A Chianti Tour through the delicious tastes of this astonishing, characteristic, quintessential piece of Tuscany, just south of Florence in the Chianti Classico Wine district. For this exclusive tour, away from the crowds, a car or minivan allows us to better explore the Chianti region through narrow and lesser-known country roads, impossible to reach by bus. Visit to a small family run winery is included to see the cellars and taste wine and local specialties.
We meet at the train station to get in the van or car for a relaxing trip south of Florence to the Chianti Classico Wine district. Once outside of the city we immediately find ourselves immersed in a hilly landscape of vineyards, olive groves, old stone farmhouses and medieval castles.
The magnificent Tuscan cypress trees line the country roads leading to old farm estates and medieval fortifications, many of which are now farmhouse holiday apartments!
Once rural and isolated, the Chianti area has become one of the most picturesque landscapes in Tuscany, the ideal place to escape to and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
We’ll stroll through a little fortified burg whose thirteenth century walls are still intact and then visit the central piazza of one of the thriving centers of the Chianti Wine District.
We’ll then go to a small family run winery to visit the cellars and taste wine!
After finishing the last drop of wine we’ll head back to Florence.
